How to connect Bybit

Allown reads your Bybit account with a read-only API key: what you hold in every account (trading, funding and Earn), your deposits, withdrawals, spot trades and Earn interest. Create the key in Bybit, paste it into Allown, done.

What you need

  • A Bybit account with two-factor authentication switched on
  • About 5 minutes, on a computer if you can

Step by step

  1. Open API keys

    1. Profile
    2. API

Log in on bybit.com. Hover over the profile icon at the top right and choose API.

An API key is a pass that lets an app read your account without your password.

  2. Create a system-generated key

    1. Create New Key
    2. System-generated API Keys
    3. API Transaction

Press Create New Key and choose System-generated API Keys. When Bybit asks what it's for, pick API Transaction and name it Allown.

  3. Make it read-only

Under API Key Permissions, choose Read-Only. Then tick every box Bybit lists below it (with Read-Only they only allow reading), at least Unified Trading, SPOT, Wallet and Earn. For IP access, choose No IP restriction.

Bybit makes keys without an IP restriction expire after three months. Allown tells you when it needs a new one.

  4. Copy the API key and the secret

Confirm with your two-factor code. Bybit shows the API Key and the API Secret: copy both.

The secret is shown only once. If you lose it, delete the key and create another.

  5. Paste them into Allown

In Allown, open the account you want to fill, choose Add connection and pick Bybit. Paste the two codes and press Connect. Allown checks with Bybit that the key is read-only before saving it.

Why it’s safe

  • Allown accepts read-only keys only: a key that can trade or withdraw is refused.
  • The keys are stored encrypted and never sent back to your browser.
  • Deleting the key in Bybit cuts Allown off at once.

After you connect

Your balances appear within a minute. Then Allown reads your deposits, withdrawals and transfers from other Bybit users, two years of spot trades and three months of Earn interest, each priced on its day. After that it syncs every few hours.

Bybit is new in Allown (beta). Balances are always read in full, Earn included; movements the key can't see, such as derivatives or older interest, are settled with one adjustment so your totals match Bybit.

Questions

Why only two years of trades?

Bybit's API keeps spot trades for two years. Anything older is settled with one adjustment, so what you hold is still right.

Does it work with a Unified Trading Account?

Yes, and with a classic account too.

Are derivatives and Earn included?

Earn is: coins in Flexible Savings, On-chain Earn and Bybit's other Earn products count in your balances, and Flexible Savings and On-chain Earn interest from the last three months is recorded as income. Derivatives aren't read yet; their profit or loss shows in your coin balances.

My key stopped working.

It has probably expired. Create a new read-only key and use Update keys on the connection.
