How to connect Binance
Allown reads your Binance account with a read-only API key: balances in every wallet and your whole history, from the first trade. You create the key in Binance, paste it into Allown, and that's it.

- Crypto, Cash
- How it connects
- Read-only key
- Time
- About 5 minutes
What you need
- A Binance account with identity verification done (Binance only gives API keys to verified accounts)
- Two-factor authentication switched on
- About 5 minutes, on a computer if you can
Step by step
Open API Management

- Account
- API Management
Log in on binance.com. Hover over the profile icon at the top right, open Account, then API Management.
An API key is a pass that lets an app read your account without your password.
Create a key
- Create API
- System generated
Press Create API, choose System generated and name the key
Allown, so you'll know later what it's for. Binance then asks you to confirm with your usual security check (an authenticator code, email or passkey).Leave it able to read, and nothing else
A new key can only read. Press Edit restrictions and check it looks like this, then save.
Setting Choose Enable Reading On Enable Spot & Margin Trading Off Enable Withdrawals Off Enable Futures Off Permits Universal Transfer Off IP access restrictions Unrestricted If the key can trade or withdraw, Allown refuses it. That's on purpose: Allown never needs more than reading.
Copy the API key and the secret key
Binance shows two codes: the API Key and the Secret Key. Copy both somewhere safe for a minute.
The secret key is shown only once. If you lose it, delete the key and create a new one; it takes a minute.
Paste them into Allown
In Allown, open the account you want to fill, choose Add connection and pick Binance. Paste the two keys and press Connect. Allown checks with Binance that the key works and is read-only before saving it.
Why it’s safe
- Allown accepts read-only keys only, and checks this with Binance every time you connect.
- The keys are stored encrypted and never sent back to your browser.
- Deleting the key in Binance cuts Allown off at once.
After you connect
Your balances appear within a minute. Then Allown reads your history: spot trades on every pair, deposits, withdrawals, card purchases, Convert, dust, Earn rewards and airdrops, each priced on its day. Years of history can take several minutes; holdings stay right meanwhile, and if anything stops the import, the next run carries on. After that Allown syncs every few hours.
Questions
Binance won't let me create an API key.
Binance asks for identity verification and two-factor authentication first. Once both are done, Create API works.
How far back does the history go?
To when each Binance product launched. Anything the API can't reach is settled with one adjustment, so your totals match Binance.
Are futures and margin included?
Not yet: spot, funding and Simple Earn are.
Should I restrict the key to certain IP addresses?
You don't need to: a read-only key can't move anything. If you do restrict it, Allown's server must be on the list, or Binance will refuse it.
